Pani Poni X! (sung by Rebecca Miyamoto)
Comment by Sumiko Shindou |
I made the song with the images of Sentai stuff and Super Robots in mind. It gave a powerful feeling of a brave battle song! |
Link (sung by Yuuna and Yuuma Kashiwagi)
Comment by Sumiko Shindou |
I aimed to be like Wink. If you can distinguish which part is Yuuna’s and which is Yuuma’s, you’re amazing! If you don’t know, then please listen more (laughs). |
Springtime of Life DAY (sung by Suzune Shiratori and Otome Akiyama)
Comment by Sumiko Shindou |
The lyrics have a youthful motif, which has served as a basis for a lot of different songs, such as the theme song of Judo Icchokusen. If you understand everything about that, you’re already in your 40s (laughs). |
Meat Sphere Longing (sung by Tsurugi Inugami and Misao Nanjo)
Comment by Sumiko Shindou |
If you’re a fan of Hiroshi Kamiya, you’ll be drooling with this (laughs). I wanted it to feel like the song was sung at a snack bar, so I added the sound of glass and ice. |
DEAD OR ALIVE (sung by Yuzuko Kurusu and Akane Serizawa)
Comment by Sumiko Shindou |
It’s a cool song. It’s about the quarrels between two people from the Film Research Club and the Drama Club, both knowing nothing about each other’s backgrounds, but still, it has no reason to be cool (laughs). |
Theme of Intelligence Department (sung by Hibiki Watanuki and Akira Miyata)
Comment by Sumiko Shindou |
This is the funniest song. Even after giving the code name, she gave her own real name (laughs). Since it's The Intelligence Club, the song was heavily inspired by 007. We had a lot of fun with the voice actors, as we played around with the intro and interludes. |
Healing Type Magical Girl Behoimi (sung by Behoimi)
Comment by Sumiko Shindou |
It’s pretty much Majokko Megu-chan. In its script, there was a magical spell that went "Shalala Shalalico", and I thought "in that case, this song is just the one!" |
Faraway Dream (sung by Rebecca Miyamoto)
Comment by Sumiko Shindou |
It’s a song where I mixed Devilman and Cutie Honey together. The different feeling between the first and second burp was because the second burp was stronger than the first. |
Last Section of Interview with Sumiko Shindou
The songs in “Pani Poni Dash!”, including the insert songs, have the impression that the lyrics and dialogue have had a skilled effort put into. Aren’t they pretty hard to make? |
Shindou | It’s actually quite fun. The script and illustrations are funny... I felt that they’re so hilarious, so the music can’t be outdone either! If anything, I got the feeling that the songs are packed with comedic elements, but that’s what makes them so fun. I’m always thinking about how to make people laugh. I can’t directly compete with the video staff, as they’re in a different category, but it still makes me want to do my best. |
Finally, please say something to the fans of Pani Poni Dash! |
Shindou | I won’t lose to the funniness of anime! I’ll make songs with a power to blow away any bad moods... or rather, to make you die of laughter. Please listen to the songs, and have a heartfelt laugh. |
