1. Okinodoku Island Not Okinotorishima, but Okinodokushima. It doesn’t seem to be in Japan’s territorial waters.
2. Convenience Store on the Island The name of the konbini is “MINI START”. This is play on the name of a real convenience store chain called MINI ST*P.
3. Exploration Outfit Becky’s and others’ outfits are reminiscent of the special program series Kawaguchi ******* Tankentai that began in 1977. The main actor of the show traveled around the world in search of unknown creatures and explored huge, untrodden caves. It can still be enjoyed even if watching it only for entertainment, but don’t go to say it’s staged. Only Ichijou has dressed up like I*diana Jones. The character is a friendly adventurer who has a strong affection for women, but a weakness towards snakes. TL note: See Development Study below. Screenshot from the TV release, subtitled by Oyasumi.
4. A Pretty Flower? Pitcher plants Media is overjoyed to pick. It’s a dangerous plant that will digest any insect that falls inside it. Although it’s said it isn’t dangerous to humans, it’s amazing how nonchalantly Media handles it.
| 5. Dangerous Animal Judging from the fur and the colouring of this animal, could it be Mu*ku? Who would’ve thought he would become the main character and do all sorts of sports meanwhile Gach*pin went to outer space...
6. Flower-Throwing Media Media, who is always all smiles, had this look for an instant while throwing flowers at Mu*ku. Perhaps this is the face she had when meeting with Behoimi on the battlefield.
7. Let’s-la-go~A classic old man joke. Its origins can be traced back to the 1970s. With her opening line being “That shocked the hell out of me”, does Media like old man jokes?
8. Camera Guy Goes in First It’s a custom for Kawa***** Hiroshi Tankentai to have their cameras enter so-called “untrodden” places before anyone else enters them. By the way, the reason why Mesousa’s appearance was changed seems to be because it’s intended to be a reference to the recent show Fuji*** Hiroshi, Tankentai. Moreover on Fuji***, you can’t mention Kamen Ri*** without noticing that he has nothing but a red scarf equipped on him. And so, Mesousa ended up wearing a scarf similar to that.
| 9. Meat for Dinner The meat that everyone here is eating is drawn similarly as in the old anime about a family from the beginning of times, and it’s meant to resemble mammoth meat... Anime dishes that make you want to eat them and make them in practice are pretty popular nowadays.
10. Old Picture of Beck Professor has been holding onto the picture of Becky’s entry to university. Excluding Becky, all the students are regular students from Momotsuki Academy. If you look closely, both men and women are only in one pose, like mannequins.
11. The Poor Mouse and The Rich Elephant Professor’s picture book covered with puns. However, the book that seems to be the origins of this is an easy-to-understand and eye-opening book about economics.
12. Ichijou, Again Disappearing When you thought Ichijou had returned from Aliens’ base, she has disappeared again. Just where on Earth did she go... TL note: This is an error that was fixed for the DVD release. Screenshot from the TV release, subtitled by Oyasumi.
13. As Summer Holiday EndedAs a last scene, Media enrolls to Momotsuki Academy. With this, all the main characters have now gathered to the Academy.

Media’s Parasol In the aftermath of dropping onto the boat where Becky is, the umbrella Media is holding while making her entrance, has been changed into a pink one. It’s girly, fitting for her.
Yet Another Apache Village Looking at the banner that has been put up, it looks like everyone is welcomed to film on Okinodoku Island. Filming seems to be going smoothly. As well as a follow-up from Episode 5, the letters for “Apache Village” appear here too.
Just Where is Itou-san? The faces of all the people dancing at the Brazilian Carnival have become to resemble Itou-san. Is Itou-san possibly something that’s common all across the world? With that being said, can people from South America enjoy watching this?
The Core On the cross-section view of Earth, there are various additional notes written around it. If they had gone to The Lost World instead of Brazil, they’d have done an expedition of an unexplored land, but if they had gone to Dinosaur Empire, a battle between Mecha**urus would have ensued. Either way, I feel like everything will work out as long as Ichijou is there.
Paintings on the Wall TV version has wall paintings on the wall, but now it’s filled with what appears to be cuneiform, runes and hieroglyphs, making it look much more authentic. The symbols look like the messages directed for aliens that were piled up to Pioneer plaques.
De**lture! The letters that Aliens here are same to the letters used by the alien giants in “Super Dimension Fortress Mac**ss”. The text is also decipherable. You can find how to decipher this font on the web, so if you’re intrested, why not give it a try? TL note: The message reads as follows: Wonder if anyone can decipher this text? Maybe I’ll understand it by looking it up online... Yack Deculture.
Cardca*tor From a playback scene of Professor’s video letter. Every time he appears on screen, the character in the background monitor changes to Rei, Himeko, Miyako and Ichijou. By the way, Ichijou is holding a tarot card from the 2nd Ending in a pose similar to that of an elementary school student who wears each episode a different costume and uses card magic.
Jaiko-chan Appearing on the screen are Hikari Nikaidou (nicknamed as Jaiko) from Momotsuki Academy’s Class 1-A, her pet Upa and Robot Jaiko. Everyone of them are characters that mainly appear in another of Hekiru Hikawa-sensei’s comics.
Farewell Note, Letter of Resignation, Payment for Pain and Suffering The envelopes on the table switch with each changing scene. Additionally, members of Café Etoile, such as Taeko and the Magical Girl Cat appear one after another under the table. When showing close-ups to Becky’s face, even the computer screen here has various characters reflected from it.
Kokuden Punch Kokuden were a type of train by the former Japanese National Railways that operated as local trains within the outskirts of large cities. That said, Kokuden Punch from Blazing Transfer ***dent has the same power as those trains. It’s a two-punch attack, one fist going up and one going down.
There are breast-baring moments, too! In the C part, superimposed text with exploration program -like advertisement seems to be displayed here. “There are breast-baring moments, too!” makes it look like a meetup with idols while they’re swimming, but just who’s nip slip are we talking about here?

Look Back to Episode 9
In relation to Pani Poni Education interview
-In the original work, only Miyako would appear in this story arc, but in the anime, everyone from Class C is there.
Kanemaki Yes, it’s certain that everyone from Class C must participate. With the manga, when thinking like “Oh, Himeko hasn’t appeared”, you can always make it sure by reading few pages back, but with TV shows, you can’t know for sure whether she’s appearing or not, unless you watch it.
Hikawa Although, the anime has become a show you need to watch over and over again (laughs).
Kanemaki It’s an anime where you can discover unexpected things by going back and watching it again, after all.
